A Gentleman in Moscow the 8-part mini-series starring Ewan McGregor, which is available on Paramount + filmed with us during 2023/24 and sees McGregor star as Count Alexander Rostov, a Russian aristocrat, spared from death and placed under house arrest while the Bolshevik Revolution plays out before him.

In 1922 when the Count is deemed an unrepentant aristocrat by a Bolshevik tribunal, he’s sentenced to house arrest in the Metropol, a grand hotel across the street from the Kremlin in Moscow.

Space 06 was used for the creation of the opulent set for the Metropol Hotel and Space 01 saw the creation of the Rostov’s tiny attic apartment where he’s forced to live.  Our backlot was used for the roof of the Metropol Hotel.

Other cast starring opposite Ewan McGregor include Johnny Harris, Leah Harvey, John Heffernan, Lyes Salem, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Alexa Goodall. McGregor was nominated for Golden Globe and Critic’s Choice awards for his performance.

Directed by Sam Miller and Sarah O’Gorman, Victor Molero was the production designer and cinematographers were Adam Gillham and Sergio Delgado. Sam Perry was the costume designer and Jacqueline Fowler was the hair and make-up designer.
