Following the huge success of two previous Production Development Trainee Schemes on \u201cWaterloo Road\u201d,\u00a0Wall to Wall Media<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Rope Ladder Fiction<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0in association with\u00a0HOME<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Screen Manchester<\/strong><\/a> are pleased to announce that applications are now open to join the next 6-month PAID<\/strong> programme, which will commence in August 2023.<\/p>\n <\/a><\/p>\n The aim of the initiative is to provide on the job training in junior roles for the next generation of talent for the scripted broadcast drama sector.<\/p>\n With the support and assistance again this year of\u00a0HOME<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0Manchester and\u00a0Screen Manchester<\/strong><\/a>, who have recently formed part of the BFI funded\u00a0Screen Alliance North<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n The \u201cWaterloo Road\u201d production trainee scheme is a hands-on experience designed to build skills by directly working on one of Britain\u2019s favourite continuing dramas.<\/p>\n Open to 8 individuals who live in the Manchester area, the trainee roles are available within the departments of:<\/p>\n Successful candidates will experience the broader production process as well as <\/em><\/p>\n \u201cWorking as a\u00a0Hair and Makeup Trainee<\/strong>\u00a0on\u00a0BBC\u2019s Waterloo Road<\/strong>\u00a0was a massive game changer for me, it gave me a real sense of autonomy and pride to see my work on TV. I had the opportunity to do some Main Cast hair and makeup, in addition to overseeing most of the supporting actors. The experience gave me a thorough understanding of how the TV industry works and prepared me for future opportunities.\u201d<\/p>\n \u2013 Karimah \u2013 Makeup & Hair Trainee<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n The Application process for this placement will be conducted in several stages:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Stage One: Application Form<\/strong><\/p>\n Please fill out the online Application Form below \u2013 applicants will then be selected to progress to the next stage.<\/p>\n APPLY HERE<\/a><\/p>\n Stage Two: Skills Training Day<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n Applicants will be selected to attend a\u00a0Skills Training Day held-in-person on Friday 4th August 2023<\/strong>. Here you will be introduced to how the production industry works with specifically designed workshops held by Industry Professionals. The Waterloo Road Production Crew will also be in attendance, and you will have the opportunity to have\u00a0one-on-one<\/strong>\u00a0conversations with Crew members from the relevant placement departments.<\/p>\n After the event participants will then be selected to go onto the interview stage.<\/p>\n Stage Three: Interviews<\/strong><\/p>\n Interviews will take place the\u00a0week beginning 7th August<\/strong>\u00a0with the relevant departmental Crew.<\/p>\n To apply for this opportunity candidates will need to be:<\/strong><\/p>\n Candidates do not need specific programme-making experience, but they do need a passion and commitment for their chosen craft.
