This is our space

From the moment you arrive, you’ll find a friendly team who understand production and are always ready to help. There’s a real sense of community on site, people know each other, doors are open and the dogs are never far away. With Manchester city centre just 10 minutes away, suppliers, post-production and those all-important after-work drinks and team socials are within easy reach too.

Dean Sinacola

Dean keeps Space moving. With nearly 30 years’ experience, he ensures productions have the space, support and answers they need. Most importantly, he wants everyone to enjoy working here, feel supported from the moment they arrive and leave wanting to come back.

Nikki Leigh Rogers

As Studio Coordinator, Nikki connects the people, productions and day-to-day details at Space. From managing unit bases to coordinating site logistics, she keeps everything running smoothly behind the scenes, while helping new teams settle in, feel welcome and quickly become part of the Space community.

Gareth Taylor

Gareth is involved from a production’s first conversation with Space. As Business Development Director, he takes time to understand each project, bringing together the right facilities and support. By building trusted relationships and adapting as plans evolve, he helps turn an initial enquiry into a production home.

Cheryl Hughes

After four years at Pinewood Studios, Cheryl returned home to Manchester to lead Space’s brand and content. From PR and events to production stories, she gives Space its personality and champions the people and places making the North a world-class production destination.

Serena Lukes

Serena is often one of the first people you’ll meet at Space. Friendly, organised and always ready to help, she welcomes productions, visitors and tenants, making sure everyone knows where they’re going and feels at home from the moment they arrive.

The Story So Far...

Space opened in 2014 with five purpose-built stages, beginning with the fittingly named World’s End. Since then, our credits have grown to include Peaky Blinders, The Crown, Nolly, House of Guinness and Talamasca. In 2018, the 30,000 sq ft Space 06 gave us even more room for ambitious productions.

Space may be young, but the site’s history stretches back much further. Its First World War heritage includes the women who manufactured munitions here; today, film and television crews continue its long tradition of making.

Come with us into the next chapter, it feels like the most exciting one yet.

Road

Enter Space Studios Manchester, Vaughan Street, West Gorton, Manchester, M12 5FQ into your sat nav.

From Manchester city centre, travel along Fairfield Street and continue onto Ashton Old Road. Turn right onto turn right onto Gorton Road, and then turn right onto Vaughan Street.

Visitor parking is available on site. Please report to Front of House when you arrive.

Train

Our nearest railway station is Ashburys, around an eight-minute walk from the studios.

From Manchester Piccadilly, take a local train one stop to Ashburys, the journey takes approximately three minutes.

Manchester Piccadilly connects to the wider national rail network, with direct services to London taking just over two hours.

Walking/Cycling

Space is around a 30-minute walk or 10-minute cycle from Manchester Piccadilly.

Cycle parking is available on site, please speak to Front of House when you arrive.

Tram

The nearest Metrolink stop is Velopark, on the Ashton-under-Lyne line. From there, Space is approximately a 20-minute walk or a short taxi journey away.

Air

Manchester Airport is approximately 25–30 minutes away by car, depending on traffic. Regular trains connect the airport with Manchester Piccadilly, where you can take a short onward train to Ashburys or complete the journey by taxi.

From solar powered stages to circular construction

Our focus on sustainability includes a recycling and waste management scheme as well as the site being supported by solar panels across all our stages.

We’ve also built recycling schemes for construction, set waste and costumes to support production sustainability aims.
